Then here’s everybody’s fave… Our 3rd Craft Stuff Swap on March 16th from 1 to 7. Have a little brunch, cruise the Farmer’s Market, and pop on over to gorge yourself on craft supplies. Soon enough it will be spring…

Valentine’s already? Really January? You can’t slow down even a little?

That’s fine by us! We have so much wonderful stuff coming up, it’s hard for me not to just gush and remind everyone how awesome it is here at The Riot. January still has plenty to offer- we have Lee Sanna’s solo show “Theater of the Rediculous” up until the end of the month, a Syntax Rugrat micro business workshop on Monday the 21st, Beginner Crochet 2:Hats on Thursday the 24th, and a sweet beginner embroidery class on the 25th! Then comes February: first, we have Eugene Stetz Jr. bringing us his solo show “My First Beer”… the opening is the 2nd- now that’s the way to pack a gallery! Then, we have a 2 day calligraphy class “Letters Of Love” on the 1st and 8th, such perfect timing to dress up you Valentine! Then, we have a beginner beading class on the 21st, and the rescheduled beginner knitting class on the 22nd! So much to do, so much to look forward to!How do you get through winter? Wholesome crafty goodness, that’s how. Art is the new chicken soup.

It’s a Holiday Riot…

Ho, ho, ho fellow Rioters! We have survived Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, and now a day of rest before Cyber Monday! How come Tuesday never gets any love? It’s not the beginning of the week, Hump Day, almost the weekend, TGIF, SATURDAY!, or the day of rest… ooops, tangent….! Anyhoo, I wanted to take a moment and let you all know what we have in store this holiday season. First, we have our 2nd Craft Stuff Swap happening on Saturday, December 1st from 4 to 8pm. Such a fab way to upcycle someone elses junk or get rid of your own. We all have crafty bits lying around destined to never actually get a chance to shine. Give them that chance! The next big deal is the Uptown Holiday Open House (parades, carolers, prizes) on Friday, December 7th from 5 to 8pm… we will be hosting a giant ViewMaster by Melissa Toth and Nicole Kail (it is totally as cool as it sounds), will have calligrapher Kate Boyer on hand to snazz up your holiday cards, and have an “Ornament Bar” to give you the chance to get elbow deep in glitter and pom poms. And speaking of cards, the 7th is the sneak peek, but Saturday, December 8th is the official big time opening for The Art Riot’s 1st Annual Group Holiday Card Show from 5 to 8 pm! All cards are under 10 bucks, and promise to be unique, subversive, charming, or hilarious…. depending on your choices. Also keep in mind, we will be torturing Matt for the month of December by being open 7 days a week. So you have no excuses. :)

How much do we rock? Come and see for yourself!

The Art Riot Crafters Union is looking for a few good artists and crafters… are you ready to Riot? The Art Riot Crafters Union is located in the Uptown/Stockade District of Kingston at 36 John St- the spot right next to Lucy’s Taco. The workshop will host skill shares, craft nights, material exchanges, classes, and other types of events… the room isn’t even done and we’ve started booking! We want to keep it to Hudson Valley artists and crafters, maybe throwing in a NYS guest star now and again. That’s it ...
